The 2010 Hearts & Hands Gala has been announced!

Event: The Ninth Annual Hearts & Hands Gala: A sampling of savory foods from local restaurant nicely paired with complementary wines.
Date: Saturday, November 6, 2010 from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Venue: Sisters of St. Francis Mt. Alvernia Campus - Scotus Hall
Tickets: $40 person
Chinese and Silent Auctions will be available.
Celebrity wine pourers will be on hand to do their part in "serving others"
What we do: Since its inception in 1999, 47 young adults have joined our program, ministering to the needs of over 29,845 individuals at 23 different non profit agencies. Our current group of nine young adults has already served 6,360 hours and 12,845 poor and/or vulnerable persons in Pittsburgh. Your support affords us the opportunity to increase services to the poor by empowering young adults to work to alleviate suffering and eliminate the causes of poverty. Our program participants serve directly with the poor and/or disadvantaged of all ages.

Eighth Annual Hearts and Hands Spring Gala (2009) Change a Heart: Franciscan Volunteer Program's eighth annual Hearts & Hands Gala was held on Saturday, April 18 at Scotus Hall at Mount Alvernia in Millvale. Many local restaurants including: Monte Cello’s Italian Restaurant, Reno's Catering, Silvioni’s, Balestreire Produce Company, Del's Bar and Restaurant, Qdoba Mexican Grill, Rudy's Subs and Yetter's Candies were all present with delicious dishes and appetizers that were paired with five complementary and specially chosen wines. This year was also Change a Heart’s 10th anniversary of service! The celebration continued with many beautiful silent auction baskets prepared by various generous donors, including a grand prize of two round-trip tickets on Jet Blue Airlines, $100 toward the purchase of a travel package with Ponzio Travel, a $100 Visa gift card toward your trip and a new video camera. There were a total of 119 persons in attendence who, with the help of other generous donors, raised nearly $12,000! Thank you to all who attended this important event for Change a Heart! Your contributions will offer aide and support to program members who serve thousands of residents in Pittsburgh each year. |
